Universal TV Remote Privacy Policy

Universal TV Remote is an independent smart TV remote app by Asian Sparrow LLC. This page explains our privacy practices and the terms for using the app.
Information the app uses
- Local network discovery: The app scans your Wi-Fi network to find TVs and streaming devices that advertise local-control features. Device names, IP addresses, model hints, pairing state, and supported controls are used to show nearby TVs and connect only to the TV you choose.
- Saved remote settings: Pairing tokens, approved devices, favorite TV apps, last connected TV, auto-reconnect preference, haptics preference, and troubleshooting settings may be saved locally on your device so the remote works after setup.
- Microphone permission: Microphone access is requested only when you use voice features. Voice behavior depends on the connected TV platform and the permissions you grant on your phone and TV.
- Screen mirroring and casting: When you start mirroring or casting, Android and the connected TV platform may request additional permissions and handle media or screen content according to their own policies.
- Purchases: Optional Premium purchases are processed by Google Play, Apple, and RevenueCat. We use purchase status only to unlock ad-free access and restore purchases.
- Advertising: Google AdMob may process device identifiers, ad interactions, diagnostics, approximate location derived from network information, and consent choices to show and measure ads on eligible screens.
How information is used
- To discover TVs and streaming devices on networks you are allowed to use.
- To pair, reconnect, launch TV apps, send remote commands, and remember your settings.
- To provide optional voice, touchpad, pointer, casting, and screen-mirroring features where supported.
- To show ads on non-control screens and offer an optional ad-free subscription.
- To troubleshoot app reliability and prevent abuse or unauthorized control.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Remote-control discovery and pairing data is designed to stay on your device or on your chosen local remote engine. Third-party services used by the app may process limited data as needed to provide their features, including Google AdMob for advertising, RevenueCat for purchase status, Google Play and Apple for billing, and TV or casting platforms when you choose to connect, cast, mirror, or use voice features.
Your choices
- You can deny microphone, nearby device, notification, or network permissions, although some features may not work without them.
- You can disconnect a TV, turn off auto-reconnect, remove saved devices, or clear the app’s local data from your phone settings.
- You can use the app for free with ads or purchase Premium to remove ads from eligible screens.
- You can manage ad privacy choices through the app settings where available and through your device or Google settings.
Terms and Conditions
- Use Universal TV Remote only with TVs, streaming devices, and networks that you own or are authorized to control.
- Some features require TV-side approval, a PIN, compatible firmware, the TV and phone being on the same reachable network, or manufacturer settings that allow mobile control.
- Compatibility varies by TV brand, model, firmware, region, app, and network settings. Controls that are not exposed by a TV platform may not work.
- Universal TV Remote is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by TV manufacturers, streaming platforms, or app services.
- All remote-control features remain free. Premium is optional and removes ads from eligible screens.
- Do not rely on the app for emergency, safety, medical, security-critical, or life-critical control.
- We may update the app, these terms, or this policy as features, legal requirements, or platform requirements change.
Children
Universal TV Remote is intended for general utility use and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
